Community contributions have exceeded 1.6 million hygiene items, benefiting local neighbors in need
AAA Washington, the region’s trusted leader in travel, automotive, and insurance services, has kicked off its 17th annual Soap for Hope toiletry drive. From now through October 31st, members, customers, and employees are encouraged to donate unused hygiene products at any of AAA Washington’s 17 locations. These contributions will be distributed to a variety of nonprofits across Washington state to aid individuals and families in need.
“The impact of a simple hygiene product can be profound, and we are incredibly proud of the over 100,000 items donated during last year’s campaign,” said Erin Rogers, Community Programs Manager at AAA Washington. “Since launching Soap for Hope, we’ve had the privilege of distributing more than 1.6 million essential items to those who need them most. Our mission to serve the community runs deep, and we’re honored to see our members and staff come together year after year to support this vital cause.”
Established in 2008, AAA Washington’s Soap for Hope program originally aimed to encourage members to donate unused toiletries collected while traveling. Today, it has evolved to welcome donations of a wide range of hygiene products, including soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, dental care items, shaving supplies, hairbrushes and combs, menstrual products, deodorant, and sanitizing wipes. All items must be unopened, unused, and can be travel-sized or full-sized.
Donations can be made at any AAA Washington store, including the following locations that partner with local nonprofits:
Donations can also be made year-round at all AAA Washington locations. For more information, visit wa.aaa.com/impact/community/programs/soap-for-hope.
